Unit 137- Part A

galka.jpg We often use verbs with the post-obit words:

in
out
on
off
up
downwards
away
back
round
through
most
along
over
forrard
past

So you can say look out / get on / take off / run abroad
etc. These are phrasal verbs.

We often use on/off/out
etc. with verbs of movement. For case:

get on
drive off
come dorsum
plow circular
The jitney was full. Nosotros couldn't become on.
A woman got into the car and drove off.
Sally is leaving tomorrow and coming back on Saturday.
When I touched him on the shoulder, he turned round.
But frequently the second discussion ( on/off/out etc.) gives a special pregnant to the verb. For example:
break downwards
wait out
take off
become on
get past
Pitiful I'chiliad late. The machine broke down. (= the engine stopped working)
Look out! There's a car coming.   (= be careful)
It was my first flight. I was nervous as the plane took off.
(= went into the air)

My French isn't very skillful, but information technology's enough to go by.   (= manage)

For more phrasal verbs, see Units 138-145.

Unit of measurement 137- Part B

galka.jpg Sometimes a phrasal verb is followed by a preposition. For example:
